"If you want peace, drop story.
If you want to produce, create story"
This is probably the Steve Hardison quote I come back to most often.
Yesterday I had to get out for a walk just to change my state, trusting that enlivening the body with some activity would rebalance things a little.
And it helped a lot.
After around 15 mins of fast-paced strides, I remembered Steve's lines and almost came to a complete stop on the path.
I'd been trapped in this thought cage all morning, trying to think my way out, and I'd forgotten I could just "drop" it.
Right now I could just walk, take in the trees, breathe... and pick up those thoughts again later if I chose to.
I saw a baby being carried by their grandparent and the innocence in those chubby cheeks and big round eyes was so striking, so completely free of thought.
And I remembered I have that innocence too.
Always fresh and new, unpolluted by my stories. It's just a question of sensing it, staying with it a little while and marvelling as the natural rebalance takes place.
And then when I'm peaceful again, maybe there's something I'd really love to produce :)
